What kind of car is being raffled?

We are raffling a new 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4X4, provided by Lindsay Automotive Group. Features include electronic stability, leather upholstery, automatic temperature control, emergency communication system, power moonroof, wireless phone connectivity, parking sensors, front dual zone A/C.

Is there a cash option in lieu of the car?

Yes. The winner can opt for $30,000 cash, but must notify Prep of that intention by the close of business on Monday, April 8.

Where do the car raffle proceeds go?

All proceeds from the car raffle support Georgetown Prep. Georgetown Prep is a Jesuit, Catholic, day and boarding school for boys in grades 9 through 12 located in North Bethesda, Maryland. Prep is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

What are my odds of winning?

The odds of winning are no less than 1-in-3,000, and will vary based on the number of entries.

What is the cost of a car raffle ticket and how many tickets are sold?

Individual tickets are $100 each; groups of three tickets are $250. There is a maximum of 3,000 tickets sold.

How do I purchase a car raffle ticket?

Tickets are sold exclusively online and by credit card through Georgetown Prep’s website at www.gprep.org/carraffle. The raffle ticket will be processed in the name of the credit card holder only. Neither checks nor cash will be accepted under any circumstances.

How do I know if my raffle entry was received?

Once you complete your transaction, you will receive an automatically generated confirmation e-mail. This will serve as your raffle ticket and evidence of your purchase. Raffle ticket stubs will be generated and submitted to the Business Office at Prep for audit and retention until the drawing at the Gala on April 6, 2019.

What is the deadline for buying tickets?

The raffle will run from January 28 through April 3 at noon, or until 3,000 tickets are sold. The drawing will be held at Prep’s Gala on April 6, 2019, but the winner need not be present to win.

What happens if 3,000 tickets are sold prior to the closing date of April 3?

If 3,000 tickets are sold prior to April 3, 2019, raffle sales will close and further entries will be refused.

Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?

No. Although Georgetown Prep is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the purchase of a ticket is not considered a tax-deductible donation.

Where will the drawing take place?

The drawing will take place at Georgetown Prep’s Gala to be held on April 6, 2019.

Do I need to be present to win?

No. If you have a winning ticket and are not present, you will be notified by phone and/or e-mail.

If I win, are there any other costs involved?

Yes. The winner is responsible for all income and sales tax, license, registration, delivery, and fees.
