Flathead Reservation Immersion Trip

June 6 - 12

In June 2019, Georgetown Prep will partner with the Jesuit community that serves the Flathead Indian Reservation in western Montana. Students will be stationed at the Saint Ignatius Mission Church in Saint Ignatius, Montana. Trip participants will engage in conversations about Native American history in the region and the role that the Jesuits played in that history. Students will be given the opportunity to meet various members of the community and learn about Native American culture, traditions, and history. The group will visit also visit area museums and Glacier National Park. Students will gain a deeper understanding of life as a Native American in the United States as well as the effects of global warming at Glacier National Park.
