Meet the Team

Vincent Rubertone '13

Vince Rubertone recently graduated from Boston College with a degree in History and Philosophy. As a member of the Alumni Service Corps, he will work in the Campus Ministry Department.

Why are you eager to serve in the Alumni Service Corps?

I'm eager to serve others, but fresh out of college I'm not yet sure how to do that best. With the ASC, Prep offers guidance as I reflect on that idea and helps me gain experience with service – all while in a community that knows me. I knew I wanted to join ASC from the moment I learned about it.

What are you most excited for about working at Prep?

I'm most excited to talk with students while on retreats and service trips. The questions posed to them are likely ones I have, too. Their answers will certainly teach me a lot.

How did your retreat and service experience at Prep and beyond influence your decision to join the ASC?

Prep's retreats and service trips challenged me to pay attention to how I live and encounter other people. These ideas stuck with me after Prep. They informed what majors I chose in college and what jobs I'm considering for the future. The path I'm on really began at Prep.

What are your interests outside of teaching?

While baking at a French pastry shop, I became captivated by rustic breads. For the next year, I've commandeered my parents' oven for practice, which has received no objections. I also play piano and guitar, which has received some objections during non-daylight hours.

Quinn Magner '14

Quinn Magner currently studies Psychology at the University of Maryland and will work in Academic Support during his time in the Alumni Service Corps.

Why do you want to serve in the ASC?

I have a strong passion for service and working with others so when I heard about the ASC program, I knew it would give me the opportunity to do just that. I also know that this program will help me to grow as a person in so many different ways and and I will learn so many new things about myself and the prep community. When I put serving others as a priority in my life, I know that I am making the best use of my time and I can be a positive impact on the lives of others around me.
What are you most excited for about working at Prep?

The first thing I am most excited about is getting to work with the incoming freshmen and being able to provide them with support and teach them how to successfully manage and balance the intense rigor of Prep’s academics. I also am very excited to build professional relationships with the faculty/staff and to ask them for guidance as to how I can be of the most service to the Prep community.
How did your retreat and service experience at Prep and beyond influence your decision to join the ASC?

My retreat and service experience at Prep are some of the most memorable and impactful times of my life. It was at Prep where I learned the true meaning of service and how serving others is what needs to be at the center of my life. My time on the Kairos retreats at Prep encouraged me to be true to myself and to always work on improving my relationship with God. So really it was a “no-brainer” for me to join the ASC once I was accepted because these are things I am still working on in my life right now and I know that while at Prep it will give me the best opportunity to focus on them.

What are your interests outside of teaching?

I am a huge basketball and baseball fan and love keeping up with the stats. I also have recently developed interests in writing and in cooking.
