Explore the World

Through exploration of other countries, cultures, and communities, we encourage students to develop a deep understanding of humanity as a whole—because understanding breeds compassion, and compassion will make us strong, wise, and kind leaders.

Traveling the world takes courage–the ability to put aside fear and take the first steps to be brave.

Travel

The trip to Italy was an incredible opportunity to learn, grow, and connect with students from across our school. We were able to experience the history and culture of Italy firsthand, but more importantly, we were able to build relationships that will last a lifetime. I believe that these kinds of experiences are crucial for developing the kind of global leadership skills that can help us create a better world for everyone.

Global Scholars

Global Scholars is a group of students who focus on global travel, discourse and academia. Students participate in seminars on a variety of interdisciplinary topics that culminate in a trip: a capstone experience and further cementing participants as academically, globally, and spiritually competent men. Global Scholars selects students for their compassion, academic excellence, and commitment to global citizenship.

Italy (March 2023)
During Spring Break 2023, participants embarked on a trip to Italy where they saw some of the great monuments of the ancient world and Catholic faith while exploring the natural sciences, discussing engineering applications, growing in their understanding of the Jesuit tradition, engaging in discourse on environmental concern and social justice, and investigating the applications of history, art, and the Classics.

Italy

The Colosseum in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy. It is the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built, and is still the largest standing amphitheatre in the world, despite its age.

Italy

Our Global Scholars were in Italy learning about the rich history, art, and culture of the country. They went to The Scrovegni Chapel, in Padua.

The 2023 Global Scholars Italy trip was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It was great to have some of my friends join me on this trip, and make close bonds with new people. Ms. Russel and Mr. Rothenberg made an amazing itinerary where we traveled to new places and saw new ways of living. The most profound experience I had was in Venice. I think that it is so cool that there are no cars in the city, and gondolas are the best means of transportation, along with walking. This experience sparked my curiosity for traveling to places around the world to see the different ways people live. I am going on the Buenos Aires Prep trip over the summer because of this realization.
