Georgetown Prep Wrestling
For decades, the Prep Wrestling Program has set the standard for excellence, winning 13 consecutive IAC Championships (2005 to 2017), earning nine straight Top 10 State finishes (2009 to 2017), and producing four National Prep Champions, 38 National Prep All-Americans, and one three-time All-American. That championship tradition is more than history; it is the foundation driving the program’s next era of dominance. With proven systems, elite coaching, and a relentless roster, Prep Wrestling is not just defending its legacy but building a future where the titles keep coming.
To keep that tradition alive and raise the bar even higher, Prep Wrestling operates on a Division I inspired system built on four pillars:
- Technical Development is driven by a structured, tiered progression system that turns raw talent into polished, championship-level wrestlers. From day one, athletes are drilled in the fundamentals that win matches, including stance, motion, hand fighting, and mat awareness, before advancing to complex scoring combinations, chain wrestling, and high-level counters. Training is designed to develop wrestlers who can dictate the pace, adapt to any style, and execute with precision under pressure. Whether refining a single-leg finish, mastering par terre defense, or perfecting match-closing rides, every skill is built for one purpose: to dominate opponents at the IAC, state, and national levels.
- Athletic Development focuses on building wrestlers who are explosive, durable, and relentless through high-intensity, varied functional training. Workouts combine strength and powerlifting, plyometrics, speed drills, endurance circuits, and mobility work to develop every physical attribute wrestling demands. This year-round approach builds stamina for deep matches, raw power for takedowns, speed for scrambles, and balance for controlling every position. The result is an athlete who can outlast, outmuscle, and outperform opponents in every phase of the match.
- Stat Analytics leverages Hudl technology so coaches can break down practice, match, and scouting film to identify trends, exploit opponents’ weaknesses, and refine the team’s technical strategy.
- Recruit Management involves aggressively seeking both new and experienced wrestlers within Prep, while also developing talent from feeder schools and partner programs to ensure a deep and competitive roster year after year.

Looking Ahead to the 2025–2026 Season
Prep Wrestling enters the 2025–2026 season with one goal: total domination. The Hoyas return a battle-tested lineup stacked with defending IAC champions, state podium finishers, and veterans who thrive when the stakes are highest. Every weight class has proven scorers capable of turning the tide of a duel, locking down bonus points, and breaking opponents mentally and physically before the final whistle.
The incoming talent only raises the threat level. A fierce freshman class and impact transfers have already turned practice into a proving ground, pushing veterans and forcing every wrestler to earn their spot. These newcomers are not here to wait their turn. They are here to seize opportunities, take over matches, and bring more gold to Prep. With relentless depth, a championship-proven system, and an uncompromising mindset, Prep Wrestling is not hoping to win titles this season; they are coming to own every podium they step on.
Prep Wrestling refuses to settle for anything less than total control of every mat, every match, every championship.
