Georgetown Preparatory School Sports Medicine team is comprised of two full time athletic trainers that strive to ensure each student-athlete’s safety and well-being while participating in athletics. In conjunction with the school’s mission, we aim to support the development of the whole student-athlete’s while participating safely in athletics.
We employ a team approach to provide care for your son by working in collaboration with the school nursing team, team physicians, outside physicians, as well as other outside medical providers involved in the care. We aim to provide high level medical care by staying up to date on the latest rehabilitation treatment trends and safety protocols.
Athletic Trainers are on campus providing coverage for all home contests and school sanctioned practices. Mr. Jeremy Eith and Ms. Ava Griese are the GP full time athletic trainers that are both nationally certified and state licensed.

Masters of Science of Advanced Athletic Training, University of South Carolina
I am a Marlton, NJ native who has been an athletic trainer for almost 11 years. I studied athletic training at the University of Connecticut, then completed my master’s degree at the University of South Carolina. I was the Head Athletic Trainer at St. Anne’s-Belfield school in Charlottesville. While at St. Anne’s-Belfield I provided care to student athletes including all practice/game coverage, taught a sports medicine class, researched concussions with the University of Virginia, and was awarded an inaugural leadership grant for professional development. I then moved to the William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia, PA, where I continued to provide care to all student athletes and designed a brand-new athletic training facility. I then worked at the University of Miami Sports Medicine Institute in Miami, FL as an Athletic Trainer in the physician clinic. I have completed national research studies for athlete injury tracking, performance research testing, and presented at a national conference. I have also been a preceptor for athletic training education programs.
When I’m not on a sideline or in the athletic training facility, I enjoy being active (weightlifting, ultimate frisbee, pickleball, exercise classes), being outside, and watching my beloved Philadelphia sports teams and UConn Huskies basketball teams. I live in D.C. with my wife, Lauren, who is a lawyer.
Ava Mullery

I attended Shenandoah University for both undergraduate and graduate school where I earned a BS in Exercise Science and a MS in Athletic Training. While at Shenandoah, I competed on the lacrosse team. Following graduation, I began working at DeMatha Catholic High School as an assistant athletic trainer for two years before arriving at Prep. I am excited to be a part of Prep's tight-knit community and get to know each of its members.
