Performing Arts
Students are empowered to discover and develop their unique artistic gifts through our theater program.
The Prep Players stage two main productions each year – a fall play and a spring musical.
Students are given the opportunity to participate in all aspects of production design and direction. They are involved in working the light and sound boards, building and painting the sets, and even directing. Through acting onstage, students develop skills in character development, improvisation, and all aspects of dramatic story-telling. In recent productions, the Prep Players have partnered with a dialect coach, a fight coordinator, and Story District, a DC venue dedicated to teaching autobiographical story-telling.
Recent previous productions include A Christmas Carol, Beauty and the Beast, Footloose, and The 39 Steps.
