Financial Aid

About 28% of families receive financial aid. Day student grants range from $5,000 to $40,000.

Georgetown Prep is committed to building a collaborative relationship with prospective and current families as they plan for the financial realities associated with their son's high school education. It is our goal to make Georgetown Prep affordable for all accepted students: Prep does not offer academic, merit or athletic scholarships, reserving all aid for those who have a demonstrated financial need. The decision to apply for financial aid has no bearing on the admissions process. Financial aid decisions are made independent from admissions decisions; grants are calculated through TADS after admissions decisions have been made.

Note for separated or divorced parents: In the case of divorced or separated parents, each retains the obligation to contribute to the education of his or her son, regardless of whether a legal agreement to do so exists. Both parents must complete a required Financial Aid application either jointly or separately. Financial aid grants will be made only after considering the financial resources of both parents. In the case of separated and/or divorced parents, no information will be given by the school to either parent regarding the other parent's financial disclosures. The assets of both parents will be considered before making any award; the assertion that one parent has disclaimed responsibility for educational expenses does not apply.

Financial Aid Process

Gather important information to submit to TADS, including:

Social Security Numbers for each applicant
Latest 1040's with all relevant schedules
Latest W-2's
1099's and other earnings statements
Bank & Dividend Statements
Loan & Debt Statements

Many questions will refer to your latest Federal Tax return. If you are completing the application prior to filing your latest tax return, you may estimate these numbers. Be sure to indicate that the numbers are estimates where appropriate. Regardless of when you fill out the application, you will be required to submit your latest 1040 with all relevant schedules, W-2's, 1099's, etc. to TADS, as well as current forms when they become available.

Georgetown Prep employs TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services) for our financial aid application process and assessment. TADS has a great reputation for helping families throughout the aid process and application submission.

Apply on time. This is the most important thing you can do to increase your chances of receiving an aid award. If you think there is any chance your family will choose Georgetown Prep, apply for financial aid at the same time you apply for admission. Please do not wait until your son is admitted to apply for financial aid. Often financial aid funds are spoken for at this point.
