Tuition and Financial Aid

About 29% of families receive financial aid. Day student grants range from $5,000 to $45,000.

Georgetown Prep is committed to building a collaborative relationship with prospective and current families as they plan for the financial realities associated with their son's high school education. It is our goal to make Georgetown Prep affordable for all accepted students: Prep does not offer academic, merit or athletic scholarships, reserving all aid for those who have a demonstrated financial need. The decision to apply for financial aid has no bearing on the admissions process. Financial aid decisions are made independent from admissions decisions; grants are calculated through TADS after admissions decisions have been made.

Note for separated or divorced parents: In the case of divorced or separated parents, each retains the obligation to contribute to the education of his or her son, regardless of whether a legal agreement to do so exists. Both parents must complete a required Financial Aid application either jointly or separately. Financial aid grants will be made only after considering the financial resources of both parents. In the case of separated and/or divorced parents, no information will be given by the school to either parent regarding the other parent's financial disclosures. The assets of both parents will be considered before making any award; the assertion that one parent has disclaimed responsibility for educational expenses does not apply.

The Georgetown Prep Financial Aid program is designed to make a Prep education possible for all families based on demonstrated financial need and the availability of funds. Prep is proud to use the Clarity Application to determine a family’s level of financial need based on the information that families share in the application which includes assets, income, expenses, and debts.

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The Clarity Application is also mobile-friendly so you can complete it from anywhere. You are also able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit, and you can share your application with additional schools that accept the Clarity Application for no additional charge. Simply use the dropdown menu in the application to select those schools.

The deadline for completing the financial aid application including relevant supplemental documents is December 19 for returning families and January 9 for new families.

The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.

Many questions will refer to your latest Federal Tax return. If you are completing the application prior to filing your latest tax return, you may estimate these numbers. Be sure to indicate that the numbers are estimates where appropriate. 

Apply on time. This is the most important thing you can do to increase your chances of receiving an aid award. If you think there is any chance your family will choose Georgetown Prep, apply for financial aid at the same time you apply for admission. Please do not wait until your son is admitted to apply for financial aid. Often financial aid funds are spoken for at this point
