The following is a letter from Rev. James R. Van Dyke, S.J., president of Georgetown Preparatory School, to the School community on December 31, 2020.
Dear Members of the Georgetown Prep Community,
In this Christmas season, I find myself praying about all the wonderful gifts that God has bestowed on Georgetown Preparatory School and how His presence is so profound. I am deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, generosity, and support from our community, especially during such a difficult and trying year.
As we say farewell to 2020, one of the most important ways you can give back is through The PREP Fund, our primary yearly fundraising initiative which enables us to meet the needs of our young men fully. Your contributions support student achievement, scholarships and financial aid, and operating costs that are not met through tuition and fees.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in The PREP Fund so far this year.
Because of your support, the next generation of great young men being formed into Men for and with Others at Georgetown Prep are able to succeed.
Thank you for your generous support of our nation's oldest Catholic high school and only Jesuit boarding school, and for continuing to enhance John Carroll's 231-year-old dream.
I wish you and your family a blessed and Happy New Year!
Sincerely in Christ,
Rev. James R. Van Dyke, S.J.
