Brandon Boyle '22 Earns Boy Scouts of America Eagle Rank
Another Prep student earns Boy Scouts of America Eagle rank! Congratulations to Brandon Boyle '22. Brandon is a member of Boy Scout Troop 433 in Olney, MD. For his Eagle Service Project, Brandon designed and built two portable signs with built-in flower beds for his troop's sponsor, Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church, a local church where his mother grew up going to services and where Brandon's parents were married. The planter is roughly 3x4x3 with a sign holder that's eight feet tall.
Brandon explained, "For my Eagle Project, I had always wanted to make something unique that hadn't been done before, so when the church came to me with this idea, I was pretty excited about the opportunity to build it from scratch. The whole process of becoming an Eagle Scout was very long and tedious, but throughout my journey I was able to experience many fun things that I wouldn't have normally been able to, and I learned many good lessons that I will be able to take with me beyond scouting."
Brandon completed his project in September 2019, and was awarded his rank In April 2021. This rank is achieved by approximately four percent of all Scouts.
