As we look to the conclusion of March, we remember the extraordinary work of the women that were on Georgetown Prep's Garrett Park campus well before any Jesuit, student, faculty or staff. At our assembly before spring break, we honored these women who were here first with special guests: the President of Marine Corps University and Commanding General of Education Command, Brigadier General Maura M. Hennigan; Dr. Shawn P. Callahan, Director, U. S. Marine Corps History Division; Ms. Catherine Beane, Vice President of Public Policy & Advocacy, Young Women’s Christian Association; and Mr. Michael K. Barry ’83, Chief Investment Officer, Georgetown University, and former Trustee of Georgetown Prep. 

The presentation of the history was prepared by faculty member Stephen J. Ochs, Ph.D., Lawler Chair of History. Mrs. Katherine  Steuart P ’18, ’22 and Assistant to the Headmaster, accompanied the reading.
