Pat Gugerty

Informed by his experience and expertise in development and business, his passion for mission-based education, and his commitment to strategic planning, career development, and team building, Pat Gugerty enthusiastically joins the community at Georgetown Prep as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement. 

In concert with our dedicated Institutional Advancement staff, Pat will oversee the vision and scope of the School's annual and capital giving, alumni engagement and activities, major and planned giving, international outreach, and special events. Pat will also work closely with the Board of Trustees to support their leadership role in fundraising.

Having most recently served as Director of Development at Loyola University’s Sellinger School of Business in Baltimore, Pat brings his experience in directing operations that produced major gift support and stewardship to the program. Prior to his work at Loyola University, Pat served as the Assistant Headmaster for Advancement at The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland in Baltimore from 2014-2021, where he managed all components of the school’s advancement operation including strategic direction of the advancement work in the school. From 2007-2014, Pat served as the Director of Development at The Tatnall School in Wilmington, Delaware. Pat began his career with MBNA America Bank, Maine, in 1990, where he held various vice-presidential positions during his 15-year career at the bank, overseeing marketing, professional and business development, and human resources. Pat holds a BA in Psychology and Interpersonal Communications from University of Maryland, where he also played lacrosse.
 
Pat states, "I am honored, humbled, and excited to step into the role of Vice President of Institutional Advancement at Georgetown Preparatory School––a renowned Jesuit institution with an illustrious history.  The opportunity to build upon its prestigious reputation while working with such talented colleagues and volunteers and to propel it towards an even brighter future ignites my passion and enthusiasm."

Pat and his wife Kate, a fundraising professional at Garrison Forest School, met as undergraduates at the University of Maryland. They have been married for 32 years and are the proud parents of Paige, 30, of Atlanta, GA; Mac, 28, of Chicago, IL and Claire, 25, of Washington, D.C.
