Fr. James Van Dyke, S.J. graduated from Canisius High School in 1977. CHS is a Jesuit high school serving young men in Buffalo, NY area. The recent Canisius High School Today magazine featured seven alumni who came to serve the Church. Fr. Van Dyke was honored to profiled.
What led you to pursue a life of service as a priest?
The more I think about this question, the more complicated it becomes to explain, even to myself. One important part of my discernment was the study of literature; great literature asks hard questions, and I found myself pondering them a lot in my third year at school.
