The recent completion of Prep's former field house into a state of the art student learning center is part of Prep's ongoing plan to enhance the school's facilities. Funded in part by Prep's Vision Campaign, the William L. George, S.J., Center houses expanded student, faculty and office spaces.
Nineteen months after the project first broke ground, the George Center opened to much fanfare and celebration on January 31, 2010. Attended by over 500 parents, friends and guests of the Prep community, the grand opening celebration included the dedication Mass, open house tour and a special music program.
As the second phase of a campus master plan first adopted by the Board of Trustees in 2001, the George Center concludes $70 million of capital improvements and renovations on campus, dramatically raising the standards for learning and achievement at Prep.
Highlights of the George Center include:
- 6,500 square foot Saul library and tutoring center
- Music recording studio
- Hoya Cafe, furnished with a brick pizza oven
- School store
- Senior lounge
- Breezeway with the seals of the 52 Jesuit schools in the nation
