The Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) is administered in October, November, December and January. Be sure to list Prep's code (3376) when registering for the test. Students applying to transfer into 11th grade should submit their PSAT scores.

Georgetown Prep is one of the test centers for the SSAT. Please register at www.ssat.org. The SSATs are held on the following Saturdays:

October 14

November 11

December 9

January 6, 2018

Note: Tests taken later than January 6, 2018 run the risk of not being scored in time for admissions decisions. The average admitted scores for the SSATs are 60th percentile for the SSAT Percentile Rank and 2070 (out of 2400) for the scaled score.

New this academic year: Character Skills Snapshot from SSAT

Character and personal growth are an integral part of a Georgetown Prep education. Grades and test scores alone do not show the whole picture of an applicant. The Character Skills Snapshot gives us rich holistic information and illuminates areas where Prep can help students grow and thrive.

We recommend that all applicants take the Character Skills Snapshot. Once you register for the SSAT, you will have access to the Snapshot when it launches on September 25, 2017. There is no charge to take the Snapshot if you are signed up to take the SSAT. The Character Skills Snapshot is optional, yet recommended, in this inaugural year.

Recommendations

Recommendations

Please submit two recommendations from two current teachers who know the student well. Recommendations may be submitted online through the Admissions Portal.

In addition, please submit one personal letter of recommendation by someone who knows the student in a non-academic capacity. There is no form for the Personal Recommendation.

Transfer Students

If you are a transfer applicant, you will need a letter from your current Dean of Students. This official letter must be sent directly from the Dean of Students to Georgetown Preparatory School Admissions on official letterhead. This letter is to indicate that you are in good standing and that you do not have a history of misconduct at your current school. Your application will be considered incomplete until this documentation is received by the Georgetown Preparatory Admissions Office.
