Georgetown Prep occupies a beautiful, 93-acre campus just north of Bethesda, Maryland, conveniently situated near the Capital Beltway and the Red Line of Washington’s Metrorail system, about a half-hour’s trip into the heart of Washington, D.C. In a verdant setting, the campus consists of 10 attractive Georgian-style buildings ranging from the original Boland Hall (1917) to the 1930s-era Chapel of Our Lady, to academic and residence life facilities built over the past several decades.
The most recent additions include The Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence, opened in 2006, which offers premier, collegiate-level facilities that are used year-round for athletic competitions, sports practices, and recreational activities. It includes a basketball arena, four full-size practice courts, a 200-meter indoor track, a double-ring wrestling room, a fitness center, and a state of the art pool with a diving well. The construction of the Hanley Center enabled Georgetown Prep in 2010 to convert its former gymnasium into a first-rate learning facility, the George Center, which includes a magnificent library, eight new classrooms, a recording studio, a student union, several offices, and the Boardroom.
Outdoor athletic facilities include an artificial turf field with stadium lights, a baseball field and batting cages, lacrosse and football stadium, a tennis center, and an 18-acre golf course.
