Double Egg Drop
Last week, students competed in a Physics Club event called the Double Egg Drop, in which a paper-and-tape device containing two eggs was dropped from a 4-meter height onto the concrete sidewalk below. The least massive device with both eggs surviving would be judged the winner. In this year's contest, there was no clear winner but various designs that showed creativity and thoughtful application. The event was part of the preparation for the annual Central Maryland Physics Olympics that will take place in late February.
