Thank you for supporting Georgetown Prep's Christmas Toy Drive! Over 200 gifts were collected for the Sacred Heart Catholic School in Washington, D.C.
On Thursday afternoon (December 15), the Arrupe Society hosted a Best Buddies wrapping party together with young ladies from the Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart. They were joined by their Best Buddies from the Ivymount School to help sort and wrap over 200 toys. Gifts will be delivered to the Consortium of Catholic Academies (CCA) on Friday, December 16.
Prep is a high school member of the CCA's Awareness Committee. The CCA was established in 1997 under the direction of James Cardinal Hickey, Archbishop of Washington, as a “Faith in the City” program to improve Catholic urban education in the heart of the nation’s capital. The goal was to stabilize and revitalize the inner city Catholic schools located in the neediest neighborhoods of Washington, DC. Today, the Consortium is a nationally recognized center of excellence in Catholic education with 14 schools dedicated to serving the educational needs of the inner-city children.
