Patricia R. Morgan: 1938-2011
The Prep community is saddened by the death of Mrs. Patricia (Pat) R. Morgan, who passed away November 26, 2011 after a brief illness.

Mrs. Morgan was a beloved member of the Prep community, serving the school for 17 years as development director. She retired from her position in July of 2006 for medical reasons, but remained an active and integral part of the school community.

With her quick wit and big heart, Mrs. Morgan counted many friends among Prep’s alumni. As part of her responsibilities, she directed two capital campaigns, helping to secure funding for the Haas Humanities Building, the Hanley Center for Athletic Excellence, and the William L. George, S.J. Center. Her colleagues and friends note that she was most proud of raising funds for financial aid, which at Prep is awarded based on a family’s need.

In 2005, Mrs. Morgan received the Insignis Medal, Prep’s highest honor. The meaning of the Latin word “insignis” is outstanding or exceptional, a fitting description for someone who gave so much to Prep.

Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband Roy, in 2008, and is survived by three children and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Norwood Parish (6701 Wisconsin Ave, Chevy Chase, MD 20815) located on the corner of Wisconsin and Bradley.. Reception will follow.
