Hoya Profiles: Meet Dean Campbell '87

What would you like for the Alumni to know about you?

I enjoy both the study and practice of higher education in American society. The topic is one way to connect with just about anyone I meet.

Any additional info like family (i.e. wife and kids)?

I am married to my beautiful wife, Dalila Campbell, and we are blessed with 4 great kids: Margaret (15), Marilyn (13), Daniela (5), and John (3).

What has Prep meant to you?

Prep represents trust for me. Because of the school size you get to know one another. So I feel I could in most cases depend on and trust another Georgetown Prep graduate (from my class or another), compared to say someone I went to college with. I think this is a rare authenticity in individuals that's increasingly difficult to find. I am fortunate to have received good schooling at Prep which laid a solid foundation for later academic and professional pursuits. What I enjoy most about my work in higher education is I get to connect with a diversity of people and ideas. I currently work as associate dean and director for graduate admission at the University of Southern California. As a Trojan alumnus (Ed.D.degree), I encourage any Prep alumni who are considering graduate school, or have sons and daughters going to college, to consider USC and sunny California!

Prep Alums meet in Club Championship

On July 4th Bethesda Country Club held its 36 hole men's golf Championship. This 36 hole match was the result of a 2-day stroke qualifier and 2 days of match play. The Championship was a contest between 2 Prep alums, Danny Hathway (2007) a rising sophomore at Georgetown University and Eddie Offterdinger (1975). The match was a great contest between 2 scratch golfers and it went all 36 holes with Danny outlasting Eddie, congratulations to both Little Hoyas!

Prep's 2008 college acceptances and placements:

Prep has long been known for having a great academic reputation and this year's college placements prove that Prep continues to be a leader in the academic arena.
