Planned Giving at Georgetown Prep

Planned gifts are a long-term method of supporting Georgetown Prep that allow you to protect your estate from federal taxes while leaving a legacy that will benefit future Hoyas for many years to come.

One example of a planned gift would be naming Prep as a beneficiary in one’s will. Other planned giving mechanisms include charitable remainder trusts, life insurance policies, and transfers of residence and personal property where the donor retains a life estate.

There are many ways to avoid costly taxes and at the same time help provide a Jesuit education to a student who would not otherwise be able to attend Georgetown Prep.

By becoming a member of the Haas Society, a group of distinguished Georgetown Prep benefactors who have made contributions such as these, you are making a gift that benefits you and Georgetown Prep.

Read about some of Prep's planned giving success stories:

The Haas Society

The Haas Society is named for Frederick Haas, ’21, a Georgetown Prep benefactor, to honor his example of stewardship, generosity, farsightedness and faith in Prep’s future. His generous bequest of more than $7 million provided the impetus for building the Haas Humanities Building and increasing the school’s endowment.

Those alumni, current and past parents, and friends of Georgetown Prep who reach beyond their own lives to enhance the opportunities of future generations through planned gifts are recognized as members of the Haas Society. These generous benefactors continue Frederick Haas’ example of building a strong foundation of financial security and stability for Georgetown Prep.

If you are interested in discussing how you could follow the lead of Frederick Haas and leave your legacy at Georgetown Prep through a planned gift, please e-mail Larry Rocca, '85, Director of Development and Alumni Affairs, or call 301-214-8629.
