At Georgetown Prep, we strongly believe the benefits of Strength and Conditioning training are without question the most important element of training for any athlete that wants to get to the next level. It is considered an essential element in preparing for competition in virtually every sport. The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that nearly everyone train for the health benefits associated with resistance training. In fact, strength training can put your child on a lifetime path to better health and fitness.

Done properly with the right supervision and knowledge, strength training can:

  • Increase your child's muscle strength, endurance and power.
  • Help protect your child's muscles and joints from injury.
  • Improve your child's performance in any sport they compete in.

Strength training isn't just for athletes. Even if your child isn't interested in sports, strength training can:

  • Strengthen your child's bones.
  • Help promote healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
  • Boost your child's metabolism.
  • Help your child maintain a healthy weight.
  • Improve your child's confidence.

Monday – Friday
6:00am – 7:00pm
3:00pm – 6:30pm

(Students/Staff ONLY)

Saturday
11:00am – 5:00pm

Rules and Regulations 
  • Fitness center use is permitted by Georgetown Prep students, staff/faculty, and alumni only.
  • Proper attire is required at all times: Athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times.
  • Safe and proper use of equipment is required at all times – misuse of equipment will result in loss of weight room privileges.
  • Ask for instructions if not clear on proper use.
  • Actions threatening the safety of others will not be tolerated.
  • Please return equipment to its proper location after use.
  • Please wipe down equipment immediate after use and keep weight room tidy.
  • Water only! Food and sports drinks are not permitted.
  • Personal items should be secured outside of weight room.
  • When using free weights, always use spotters.
  • If Fitness Center staff is not present, use of Fitness Center is at your own risk.

Fitness Center Monitor(s) and Manager(s) on duty have complete discretion when enforcing all rules.
