College Athletic Recruiting

Student-athletes at Georgetown Prep may have a strong desire to continue athletic competition in college. The Athletic Department is willing to help students pursue this goal. If a student has such a goal, he needs to start preparing as early as his freshman year. Parents and their son need to keep an open line of communication with the following groups of people: the coach, the college counselor, and the athletic director or his designate.

The Athletic Department strongly recommends downloading the Guide for the College-Bound Student-Athlete from the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Web site. Parents and students need to be familiar with the differences of recruiting college athletes by the level of competition in which each school participates. Each division has different requirements which must be met by the prospective student-athlete.
