Prep is proud to offer a rigorous liberal arts curriculum grounded in St. Ignatius Loyola’s educational philosophy, which emphasizes reflection, discernment, scholarly excellence, and personal responsibility.
While Prep’s curriculum is challenging, it offers each student the opportunity to develop his academic interests in specific areas and subjects. Prep offers 24 Advanced Placement courses across the core subjects. Prep’s small classroom setting – 16 students is the average size – provides an optimum environment for learning with constant discussion between teachers and students. Teachers are available to meet with students before, during and after the school day. Academic resources, including technology and tutoring, are readily available for students to take advantage of.
A variety of elective courses give students ample opportunity to explore their interests and passions. Some of these courses include Blues Literature, Stain Glass Studio, Film as Literature, Digital Photography, Anatomy and Physiology, Ignatian Seminar and Computer Science. Course descriptions are listed according to their respective departments.
At Prep, students are encouraged to strive for academic excellence but also to develop creative thought, intellectual capacity and a desire to learn and work hard.
